No, “Whitcombe James” isn’t a mythical person (despite what our clients’ marketing departments may think…)

We’re two filmmakers from London (Alex Whitcombe and Fraser James) who teamed up to build one of the most agile creative production companies in the world.

We crossed paths almost a decade ago in a warehouse editing room in Shoreditch (London) and immediately clicked over a shared passion for capturing our travels only with equipment we could carry in our backpacks.

While we’ve grown from backpack filmmaking, we still carry that same philosophy into our small and lean teams. Our company is founded on the simple principle that small, talented teams make better creative work than large, bloated ones - and they make budgets go further too.

With over a decade of professional filmmaking experience, Alex (an award winning filmmaker in his own right) has worked closely with dozens of household names and production companies of all sizes. His traditional background, attention to craft and innate technical knowledge make Alex a favourite of clients with complex and intricate briefs.

Bolstered by a background in international creative advertising, Fraser has created films and still-images for some of the biggest names in adventure & travel. With a focus on social and digitally led content, his future facing content creates conversations; drives engagement and puts brands on the map in this socially led era.
